Letter from our Board President...
March, 2009
Welcome to the 46th season of Burros!
Our dedicated objective is to ‘promote and instill self-confidence, good sportsmanship,
camaraderie, physical and mental development while learning the techniques of football and
cheerleading’. Along the way, we want everyone to enjoy participating and have fun!
Once again, we are anticipating approximately 700 children to participate in the tackle, cheer and
flag programs this year. I’d like to thank all of the volunteers that make such an accomplishment
possible. Parents, Team Parents, Coaches, the Board of Directors and many other volunteers make
personal contributions and sacrifices of their own time (and families) to support the organization.
Our organization is only as effective as our volunteer participation and contributions. This year we will be updating the Volunteer Participation Program. Each registered family will be asked to
contribute to the operational and functional support needs of the organization. The deposit for this
program is not intended as fundraiser but rather an incentive for volunteers to contribute to event
and operational support. Information regarding the updated program will be published and posted on the Burros website. Any questions should be directed to the contact resources provided in the publication, or, any Board Director.
The Coaches, Team Parents and Board of Directors are all volunteers and are here to support all
program participants. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any
Board Director.
The Burros maintain a web site at www.mokenaburros.com. This site is an important resource for updates on practices, cancellations, game schedules, hand-outs, events and other important news and information. We encourage you to visit the site regularly.
