“Once a Burro, Always a Burro”
December 30, 2011
Dear Burros,
We have finished 2011 season on a high note. Our Flag program grew to include a new 9-11 year old program with another age group possible in ’12. Our Football program did well in the Southwest Midget Football league with many teams advancing deep into the playoffs and our Blue Lightweight Jr. and Black Pee Wee Jr. teams finishing as Super Bowl Champions. Our Cheerleaders worked hard and for their efforts, stole the show at the SWCCL Cheer Competition with all 7 Squads taking 1st Place.
We must now turn our attention to 2012. Congratulations to our new board members; Chris Pignotti, Mike Carroll, Kirsten Peterson and Matt Hunniford. These newly elected members along with the rest of the board are now preparing for the next season. We have a lot of work to do to get ready for 2012. As your new President, I look forward to working with the Board to put on the best program possible for our participants. Registration is being discussed and should be scheduled soon. Watch the website for updates. You can find us at www.mokenaburros.com.
As we begin a new season, we will also be looking to the preparation and planning of our 50th Anniversary Season in 2013. I often wonder if Mr. Kruger ever thought the program he started in 1963 would still be going strong 50 years later. There is some information on the history of the Burros on the website, check it out. If anyone has old photos or stories to tell of the history of the Burros, please send them to us via the “contact us” link on the website. We would enjoy the opportunity to share them on the Burros website.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing President, Chip Grabski, for his many years of service to the Burros, the last four years as President. I look forward to the opportunity to continue his efforts as I take over the reins. Thank You Chip, from the entire Burros Family.
I am excited about the 2012 season! August is only seven months away. As President, my goal is to create an environment in football and cheerleading that every program around wants to emulate. I want every boy and girl to leave the program with the same sense of accomplishment and fond memories my Cheerleader and Football player have. They as I believe, “Once a Burro, Always a Burro”!
Happy New Year to All. See you on the field.
Go Burros!!!
Joe Lentz
President
